Swedish Massage

Is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

Thai Massage

Originated in India over 2500 years ago.

The theoretical basis for this style of bodywork is the existence of the "energy body" which includes 72,000 "sen" or energy lines through which life force flows.

Through compressions, pressure on specific points and stretches to release blockages, a free flow of energy is restored.

Thai massage is performed on a futon over clothing. No oil or lotion is used.

This is one of the world's oldest healing modalities.

It is a blend of massage, acupressure, energy work, and gentle yoga stretches.

The client wears comfortable clothing and lies on the floor on a soft mat.

Benefits from a session may include: releasing tight joints, stretching muscles, increasing range of motion, and reducing stress.

Thai massage is known in Thailand as Nuat phaen boran, correctly translates only as ancient massage or traditional massage, and also known as Thai ancient massage, traditional Thai massage.

Deep Tissue Massage

Is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries.

Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

Sports Massage

is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates.

Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body's natural immune function.

Myofascial Massage

Myofascial release refers to the manual massage technique for stretching the fascia and releasing bonds between fascia, integument, and muscles with the goal of eliminating pain, increasing range of motion and equilibrioception.

Myofascial release usually involves applying shear compression or tension in various directions, or by skin rolling.

Reiki

is a form of faith healing developed by a Japanese Buddhist, Mikao Usui, in the early part of the 20th century.

Pronounced "ray-key," this complementary therapy is known as a road to healing, and a system of divine enlightenment.

The word "reiki" in Japanese translates roughly as "universal life force energy." This explains why reiki can only be passed from master to apprentice, and why the theory behind this spiritual practice upholds that only a skilled reiki practitioner can absorb energy from the universe, and then channel it into a patient in order to improve their health and well-being.

In this way it is much like touch therapy, with the reiki master acting as the conduit - removing bad energy and replacing it with good energy. This channeling of good energy will then encourage the patient to heal.
